A town's knitting group is sending Christmas shoe boxes to Ukraine.
The boxes, which will help men, women, children, and families, are set to be distributed by Christian Response To Eastern Europe, with the truck departing later this year for the Ukraine/Moldova border.
Contributions from the Exmouth Knit and Chat group will help those affected by war and support residents of one of Europe's poorest nations.
Sandra Witts, the organiser, recounted a touching moment when a volunteer told her that a grandmother shed tears upon receiving jewellery in a box from the group, as it was the first piece she had owned since childhood.
The group, known for knitting for various local, national, and international causes, is currently seeking donations of wool.
Those wishing to contribute can use the contact form on exmouthknitandchat.co.uk or visit the group, which convenes every Thursday from 10am to 12pm at Wings Bar, Imperial Road, Exmouth, and ask for Sandra.
