Exmouth named the best bloom entry in the South West

The town picked up multiple awards at the South West in Bloom Awards.

Exmouth in Bloom committee members travelled to Bath on Tuesday to attend the event and came away with several trophies.

The group said they were "enormously proud" to have been awarded gold and the highest marks by one point, which saw them win the St Bridget Cup for the large town category.

They were also presented with the London and Manchester Trophy for an "outstanding contribution to the environment" for the Exmouth Tiny Forest Project and the prestigious Sponsors Trophy for the most meritorious entry overall.

This means Exmouth can maintain its reputation as the Town of Flowers and claim to be the best bloom entry in the South West.

In addition, Exmouth also won the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England Environmental Award for the best environmental project with the Exmouth Tiny Forest.

The Bicton Inn, Exmouth, also took second place in the Sean Cregan Trophy for the best pub display and Phoebe Ireland from 4th Withycombe Brownies was highly commended in the children’s picture competition, judged by Lady Emma Fellowes.

Finally, Exmouth in Bloom was also nominated in the art in the landscape category, for the variety of murals in Exmouth and the youth award, for isolation creation and the Over the Garden Fence Project by the station.
