Ron and Margaret Mudge celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary in style with a ‘wild’ weekend at Longleat Safari Park.

Their week-long celebrations started with their adventure surrounded by family and culminated with a celebratory cream tea in the comfort of their home.

Ron and Margaret’s family would like to thank the Homestead for helping to make their anniversary day extra special.

On October 4 Ronald and Margaret Mudge celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a surprise party at The Homestead care home in Exmouth.

The beloved couple, who visit The Homestead for daycare, were treated to a wonderful surprise party organised by the care home team.

Ronald, known affectionately as Ron, is no stranger to the community—having served as the Mayor of Exmouth, he is well-known for his dedication to the town.

The Homestead staff wanted to do something extra special to recognise both his and Margaret's contribution to the community, as well as their enduring love for each other.

Ronald shared a few words of gratitude, saying, "Margaret and I are overwhelmed by this wonderful surprise.

It’s not every day you celebrate 60 years together, and to do so surrounded by such warmth and kindness makes it all the more memorable.

"We’ve always loved coming to The Homestead, and today we feel truly at home."

Margaret echoed Ron's sentiments, expressing her delight in spending the day with those they care about.

“I couldn’t ask for anything more—it’s been a day full of love, and that’s all that really matters,” she said with a smile.

Ron and Margaret’s love story has stood the test of time, and their anniversary celebration was a testament to the enduring power of love and connection.

The Homestead looks forward to welcoming them for many more wonderful days to come
