The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra UK is set to bring the glitz and glamour of the 1940s and 1950s to the Exmouth Pavilion.

The Glenn Miller and Big Band Spectacular will see the 16-piece orchestra play the hits of the era on October 23.

The show will feature the music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington, alongside swing classics from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

Some of the songs set to be performed on the night include Moonlight Serenade, Little Brown Jug, Pennsylvania 6-5000, Take The A Train and One O'clock Jump.

The show will also feature an outstanding vocalist, spectacular solos, and a choreographed brass section.

The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra UK is directed by band leader Kevin Cunningham and features musicians with credits ranging from the BBC Big Band to West End theatre bands.

Band leader Kevin Cunningham said: "Our audiences can expect a fun, high-energy wall of sound from a 16-piece American-style Big Band playing the numbers that everyone knows and loves.

"Swing is for everyone as proven by the huge popularity of Strictly Come Dancing, Peaky Blinders and the many Blitz Balls that are held every year.

"Keeping the music alive for new listeners to discover and come to love is important to us all and I know that comes across in our shows."

The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra UK has played under the wing of a bomber at the American Air Museum, and has performed sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The show has previously been described as "faultlessly performed" and "a night of swing at its absolute best" by Broadway Baby.

An audience member at the Brunton Theatre in Musselburgh in 2022 described the performance as a "fabulous show".

They said: "Very professional, great orchestra.

"A very well entertained audience all went home happy."

Another audience member, who watched the show at The Playhouse in Weston Super Mare, said: "Fantastic evening tonight at The Playhouse, Weston Super Mare.

"Thanks for the music.

"Didn't want it to end.

"It was a really enjoyable evening, your band brought Glenn Miller's music alive.

"I shall definitely recommend your Moonlight Serenade Orchestra to all my friends, long live the big bands live music."

The show will take place at the Exmouth Pavilion on October 23, at 7.30pm.
