Four schools in Exmouth have had successful Ofsted reports in 2024, according to the governing body's website.

The list is from January 1 2024, to Monday October 21, no schools in Taunton have been rated Outstanding by Ofsted this year, but four have been rated 'Good.'

Each year, every school in the UK has a visit from a government inspector to make sure the school is operating correctly. They write a full report and give an overall score of the school from four categories, Outstanding, Good, requires improvement and inadequate.

1. St Joseph's Catholic Primary School at Regents Gate, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 1TA. This school was rated Good on July 4. 

Inspectors praised the school by saying it was a 'caring school.' Where pupils’ behaviour reflects the school’s ethos of kindness and respect. Pupils take pride in their learning. As a result, pupils are happy and feel safe at school.

2. Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education, an Independent Specialist College at 1 Douglas Avenue, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 2AU. It was rated Good on June 13

The Academy celebrated a clean sweep of Good grades across all areas of provision, affirming its comprehensive quality educational provisions.

3. Withycombe Raleigh Church of England Primary School at Withycombe Village Road, Exmouth. It was rated Good on June 24.

Withycombe School was rated Good in all areas, Quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, Personal development, leadership and management and the early years provision. 

Inspectors said it is a friendly and happy school.

4. Bassetts Farm Primary School at St John's Road was rated Good on July 15.

Bassetts was also rated 'Good' in all areas, the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, Personal development, leadership and management and the early years provision.
