A Lions Club marked World Diabetes Day by raising awareness at a supermarket.
The Budleigh Salterton Lions Club set up an information stand at Exmouth Tesco on November 14.
They marked the day, which celebrates the discovery of insulin, by distributing booklets from Diabetes UK and the Independent Diabetes Trust.
Lions Tom and Colin aimed to increase understanding of diabetes and the importance of healthy eating and regular exercise.
The club also promoted a diabetes self-help support group starting in January 2025 at SeaChange in Budleigh.

World Diabetes Day, celebrated on November 14, marks the birthday of Frederick Banting, who discovered insulin with Charles Best in 1921.
Before this breakthrough, diabetics often led short lives, frequently succumbing to starvation.
Today, insulin enables diabetics to live normal lives.
However, diabetes awareness remains crucial for the 4.4 million people in the UK currently affected by the disease.
