The Environment Agency (EA) has issued a yellow 'flooding is possible' warning for a number of Rivers in East Devon this evening (November 26).

The government agency says that flooding is possible overnight on Tuesday November 26 for Lympstone, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Honiton, Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth areas.

The ground and rivers are already overflowing due to heavy rain with Storm Bert and further rainfall is expected in the Rivers Otter, Sid & Exmouth area over Tuesday night.

A spokesman for the EA said: "This rainfall is forecast to cause river levels to rise and may cause flooding to low lying land and roads close to rivers.

"River levels will remain high into Wednesday. Take care near areas of concern and avoid walking or driving through floodwater."

The advice is to monitor your local weather conditions and check river levels on gov.uk. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area clearing blockages.
