Crowds got into the festive spirit on Friday (November 29) as Budleigh Salterton's Late Night Shopping Event took place.
Roger Bourgein, town crier for Exmouth officially started the event, then a parade of choirs, buskers, choirs, dancers and singers danced through the street.
Budleigh Salterton's Christmas Late Night Shopping event took place last Friday (November 29) from 5pm.
Shops in the high street stayed open late and held Christmas themed events and tipples to get the crowd into the festive spirit. Mulled wine, Mulled Cider, Mice Pies and food from their various stores.
The Rowan Tree was crowned the winner of the festive window display.
One attendee told the Journal: "The rain held off for the Friday Budleigh Late Night Shopping and as a result the crowds were as numerous as usual.
"Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves and lots of shops and cafes stayed open to 9pm."
This year's event is organised by Love Budleigh & Shop Budleigh and was the perfect event to get people into the festive spirit, support local businesses and get those presents in early before the big day.
Many thanks to Peter Bowler, who attended the event and sent his pictures to the Journal.
