After a missed full season of league action, Exmouth Rugby 1st Team recommence their South West Premier fixtures on Saturday, September 4 at home to Okehampton.
The last time the teams met, The Cockles triumphed home and away in a league win double. Travelling across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol, Gloucester and Wiltshire will see Exmouth meet some familiar faces from Brixham, Exeter University, Ivybridge, Camborne, Launceston, Bournemouth, Weston-super-Mare and Hornets also from Weston, with Old Redcliffians in Bristol.
Old Centralians and Drybrook in Gloucestershire and league newcomers Royal Wootton Bassett, complete the league.
Nick Smith, Director of Rugby commented: “it’s again a very competitive league; however, we are looking forward to the challenge and the players are excited get back out on the pitch in front of our supporters.
“Since we have been able to return to training, the coaches have kept things light so far with the emphasis on keeping the players sharp and the sessions enjoyable. The training will be ramped up in pre-season and will be ready to face our close neighbours Okehampton.”
Exmouth 2nd Team and Nomads now wait on their fixtures for the Devon Merit Table 1 & 2. The Cockles start pre-season training at the end of June, with pre-season fixtures in August.
