Last season the club were invited to Combe Martin Bowls Club for a fixture that took place on a damp afternoon at the beginning of September, writes Vaughan Fletcher.

Regardless of the weather a great time was had by all and both clubs agreed to home and away fixtures this year.

And so, on a warm sunny day last Thursday, 20 Combe Martin players and a number of supporters made the long journey to our village club for the first ever match between the two sides at our venue. The final score was one of 76-52 in favour of the home side. Chardstock may have come out on top on the day but, more importantly, our members have made new friends that they can look forward to seeing in the years to come.
