EXMOUTH Beach Boys finally put an end to their miserable losing run.

Prior to the meeting with ALS, Beach Boys boss Colin Stevens gathered his players to sort things out and clear the air and it clearly paid dividends as the side served up a performance that suggests the remainder of the season can be faced with renewed confidence.

From the first whistle, to a man, the Beach showed passion, endeavour and commitment, affording the opposition little time to dwell on the ball whilst, when attacking, they were purposeful and constantly sought to get the ball down, and out wide, to get at the ALS back line.

Beach took the lead when Dale Evans, who, along with Adam Barlow, had been causing the ALS full-backs no end of bother, got past his marker and crossed for Ian Boyd to tuck the ball home.

Despite going on to dominate the first half, Beach were unable to go into the break with an advantage as ALS levelled to send the sides in at 1-1.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with Beach the dominant team but, against the run of play, they fell behind to a 25-yard strike that gave beach keeper Ben Tilley no chance.

Parity was restored when Sean Fahy won the ball back and set up Stu Tuckett to score.

The last quarter of the contest was end to end with both sides having strong appeals for penalties waved away, but neither side could fashion a winner and both sides took something away from the game which ended 2-2.
