East Budleigh booked their place in the second round of the East Devon Senior Cup with a penalty shoot-out win against Beer.
The first half ended goalless but, three minutes after the restart, the Budleigh defence was breached for the first time as the away side scored and ten minutes later, they added a second, before the game turned.
Brendan Hood won Budleigh a penalty and Beer were reduced to ten men for foul and abusive language. Hugo Demetre stepped up to confidently dispatch the kick to give Budleigh hope.
Now in the ascendency, Guy Laverock rattled the bar before Hood converted a George Harris corner for 2-2 and it was that man Harris that also struck the bar as the game went to a shoot-out.
Demetre, Laverock, Harris and Toby Hill all converted their kicks, whilst the away side missed kick four and Drew Shorrock saved the last to send the Jays through.
