Brixington Blues U14s put aside the disappointment of opening day defeat to overpower Central with a 9-0 victory.
Josh Tompkinson provided a lovely ball over the top for Harry Battem to hammer home the opener and this was quickly followed by a Ned O’Mahoney cross fired into the bottom corner by Jude Ritchie.
Alphey Young made a trio of top saves before a stunning strike from O’Mahoney made it 3-0. He then turned provider, fizzing over the corner for Ritchie to nod home his second.
Defensive assurance, with Harley Westaway a powerhouse at the back, provided the platform for the Blues to take complete control. Batten quickly added two more for his hat-trick, and then a fourth following good work from Lawrence.
The Blues scored two more with O’Mahoney’s free kick landing perfectly for Tompkinson to smash home and Harry Batten capitalising on a mix-up between the referee and linesman to complete the rout.
