East Budleigh Reserves made it five wins from five with an excellent 5-1 victory at Exeter United.
Dan Atkinson broke the deadlock when heading in a corner from Ross Bright. Budleigh continued to create chances and, after striking the crossbar twice, Atkinson bundled in a second before the break.
The Exeter side started the second half better and pulled a goal back, but Budleigh’s two-goal cushion was restored when Bright headed a superb third.
Gaol number four for Budleigh belonged to Nathan Penhallurick, who produced a solo run and finished from close range.
Curtis Ashton-Fraser and Gareth Morrey replaced Ben Wilks and Penhallurick respectively and it was the latter who turned well before beating the ‘keeper with a low left-foot finish to round off a comprehensive team performance. Player of the match went to Owen Corrick.
East Budleigh first-team were beaten 6-1 by Bow AAC in Division 1 last Saturday, Jack Howarth scoring the consolation.
