Brixington Blues turned on the style in defeating Sidmouth Town Vikings in the Exeter & District Youth League Cup.
Josh Tompkinson flicked home a lovely finish on eight minutes and the lead was doubled when Oliver Dawkins supplied the pass for Ned O’Mahoney to convert. Captain Harry Batten got involved in the scoring after a strong run on 17 minutes.
Dawkins grabbed the goal his performance deserved and, while Jude Ritchie did not find the net, he was a major presence up front for the Blues, while goalkeeper Alphey Young was exemplary between the sticks.
Will Palfrey and O’Mahoney combined for Batten’s second goal before Tompkinson scored a screamer from distance. O’Mahoney curled home a delicious finish for number seven and the Blues kept up the relentless pressure.
Jake Gibbs-Clark curled a sweet finish into the bottom corner, O’Mahoney completed his hat-trick and Tompkinson also bagged a treble with a close-range finish.
