The indoor season at Madeira Bowls officially opened on Sunday but many members took advantage of the opportunity to roll-up and adjust to indoor carpet conditions in the previous week.
On Friday, Indoor Secretaries Ronnie Cook and Judi Fisher arranged an Opening Drive, which was so well supported by 48 members that two sessions were necessary. Sue Harriott and her team of Janet Grundy, Jean Rainton and Mike Turff emerged the victors of the morning session, winning by a shot difference over three mini games of six ends, having won one, lost one and drawn one. Indoor Captain Mike Norman presented them with prizes of wine and chocolate.
Joan Mansell. Angela Fish, Alan Porter and Carolyn Parker were winners of the afternoon session. It was good to see so many members raring to go in one day and particularly good that so many new members were joining in.
