Brixington Blues Under-12s moved to the top of the table after an enthralling 3-2 victory over an excellent Cranbrook side.
The Blues’ defensive trio of Lucas Hill, Ren Woodhall and Riley West coped admirably in the early stages but were finally undone by a Cranbrook header opening the scoring, and the Blues remained one down at the interval.
After a couple of tactical tweaks at half-time, Brixington drew level with a terrific first-time finish from Ollie Murdoch. The Blues then grabbed the lead thanks to a fine solo effort from Henry Turner.
Cranbrook fought back to level the match with a super finish beyond Blues’ goalkeeper Lucas Marles, who then turned into the match hero, producing a brilliant penalty save to keep the game at 2-2.
There was one final chapter to a super game, Riley West rising highest to head home a fabulous winner from a corner.
