Madeira ladies earned an incredible 81-81 draw with Torbay before an excellent National Over 60s Pairs game worthy of Potters, Janine Orchard and Sue Harriott beat fellow members, the two Dees (Williams and Norman) for a place in the section final of this competition.
Members are also this week playing in two County Section finals. Janine Orchard and Dee Williams are playing Honiton at the neutral green of Sidmouth on Wednesday, and Dee again, playing with Jenny Charles, Myra Furminger and Ann Maloney, are playing in the County 4s.
The ladies enjoyed a two triples fixture at Budleigh Salterton and Madeira emerged the winners on this occasion with 41 shots to 36. Catherine King skipped the winning team for Madeira; playing with Glynis Byrn and Sue Lampey, earning a plus 7 shot difference.
Vic Doidge skipped his team of John Sweetman, Myra Furminger and Annetter Bister to the best home shot difference of plus 6 in a 49 - 27 win over Chudleigh. Madeira ladies beat three triples teams from Dawlish by just two shots, with the best home performance by Joan Mansell and her team of Glynis Byrn and Viv Gill.
Bob Finch, Captain of the Day, led the charge with his team of Alan Porter and John Bellamy with their outstanding 37 shots to 4 win, as Madeira men defeated Exonia.
