With only four matches remaining to complete the Exmouth Snooker League season, leaders East Budleigh ‘B’ still hold pole position, despite losing their two recent matches.

Shaun New 62(25)-24 and David Freer 58-40 were level after four frames against East Budleigh ‘A’, but, with Harry Savage 49-48, Bert Savage 48-15 and Mark Auton winning the decider 74-61, they recorded their fourth defeat.

Against defending champions, Police Social Club ‘A’, Stuart Laws 83-57 and David Freer 51-31 drew level with Mike Delahaye 65-61 and George Webster 54-33 before Pete Abrahams 69-61 won the black ball final frame. But, the champions elect hold a comfortable 14 points lead overall.

Police ‘C’ are second with Eric James 79-18, John Parrott 60-50, Terry Brown 64-37 and Bob Alexander 62-39 denied maximum points by Bert Savage 81-61 of visitors East Budleigh ‘A’. This, after losing to arch rivals Police ‘B’. John Evens 52-24 and Paul Keates 71-27 won their frames but Terry Merrick 67-28, Dave Thomas 58-34 and David Binmore 54-32 secured the “B’ team’s 7th win.

Police ‘D’ are third with two games in hand. Craig Wilson 68-24, Kevin Proctor 75-43 and Dave Lance 59-41 beat the Police ‘A’ in five frames, as Carl Rowsell 54-48 and Mike Delahaye 74-58 were ahead after the two openers.
