Youth overcame experience, as Lympstone Amateur Boxing Club debutant Louis Silk travelled to Northampton and recorded an outstanding victory in his first senior bout.
Taking on a Royal Navy fighter with bags of experience and ring-time under his belt, Silk started the bout with an outstanding tempo and dropped his opponent to his knees in a dominant opening round.
The relentless intensity of Silk’s work continued in the second and there was no response coming from the opposite corner, prompting the referee to stop the bout and award the Lympstone youngster a superb victory.
Well done to Louis and everyone from Lympstone ABC, as these experiences on the road against unfamiliar opposition is crucial to a boxing education. The club is always seeking to attract new young boxers to a sport that teaches discipline, determination and dedication. Visit their social media channels for more information.
