East Budleigh Reserves were back to winning ways last Saturday, thanks to a brace from Nathan Penhallurick to win 3-2 at Cullompton.
Budleigh began well with Penhallurick nodding in the opener after good work from Joe Bowden. This booted the home side into life and they took control of the game putting Budleigh to level the scores before deservedly taking a half-time lead.
But Budleigh were not going to lie down and produced a superb second half; Penhallurick turned provider for Bowden as The Jays made it 2-2.
The winning goal eventually came from the penalty spot; Bowden winning it and that man Penhallurick converting it.
Unfortunately, it was not such a good day at the office for East Budleigh First X1 Who lost out to an 82nd minute goal from visitors Chard.
Budleigh had the better of the fist period; A good move involving Guy Laverock and Jack Greenslade led to Brad Hill being denied by the away stopper, but the final ball was often lacking for Budleigh.
In the second half Greenslade saw an effort deflected wide and Toby Hill drilled a shot over the top, whilst Chard missed a couple of good chances before grabbing the winner eight minutes from the end.
