Seven Exmouth Harriers competed in the second of City Runs Summer Series 5km races at Exwick on Tuesday evening.
Cathy Newman’s time of 19.03 was the performance of the event, as it not only gave her an amazing 102% age grading but she also recorded the 2nd fastest British all-time W60 5km time. An amazing achievement for Cathy, who is an inspiration to all runners.

On Sunday morning, eighteen Harriers took part in the undulating Ottery 10km that started and finished at the Ottery St Mary Cricket Club in Strawberry Lane. It was a very successful day for the Harriers with six finishing in the top 20.
Oli White and James Kelly set the pace from the start with Oli pushing on over the hills in the second half to cross the finish line in 1st place in 33.58. Oli and James were presented with their trophies later in the day by Devon’s greatest Olympian Jo Pavey, who also took part in the 10km event.

Also on Sunday morning, Langdon Williams travelled to North Devon to compete in the mainly flat Bideford 10km that took in views of the Taw and Torridge estuary between Bideford and Instow. The course headed out from the town centre on the road to Instow and returned on the Tarka Trail. Langdon performed brilliantly to finish 36th in a time of 37.07, and 4th M55.
