Plymouth Argyle are champions of Sky Bet League One, completing a sensational season with a 3-1 victory at Port Vale to confirm the title is heading back to Devon.
The Pilgrims entered the final day one point ahead of Ipswich Town and the equation was simple: match the result of the Suffolk side, who were away to Fleetwood Town, and Argyle would take the trophy.
Almost 4,000 Argyle fans travelled to Staffordshire and they were given a rough start, as Vale opened the scoring with a goal from James Plant.
However, coming from behind has been a massive strength for the Greens this season and they equalised with a sweet strike from midfielder Adam Randell on 34 minutes. Captain Joe Edwards then gave Argyle a 2-1 advantage with a smart back-post finish.
Ipswich, meanwhile, took the lead at Fleetwood but then conceded twice to put the Pilgrims in a very strong position. The next twist also went in favour of Argyle, as substitute Finn Azaz dropped a shoulder on the edge of the Port Vale penalty area and guided a lovely finish into the top corner.
Ipswich equalised at Fleetwood but Argyle had done enough, celebrating with a parade through Plymouth on Bank Holiday Monday.
