Budleigh bowlers travelled to Ottery St Mary to play a Mixed Triples match in typically variable weather.
The match ended with two wins for each club and one drawn game. The players in the first of the winning teams from Budleigh were Brian Ward, Robin Grenyer and Penny Weeks, 19-14.
Melissa Camp, Martin Creed and Andy Cardy were never behind and enjoyed a victory of 14-9. The drawn game got off to a flying start for the Ottery trio of and they were ahead by 6-1 but Evelyn Crook, Tony Mackness and Marilyn Jackson stuck to the task and at the halfway stage were losing by just a single shot. A superb match ended 18-18.
The overall result was a win for Budleigh by a single shot 78-77.
Budleigh captain Tony Mackness said: "Whilst the Green was very damp, it soon dried out and many thanks to Ottery for organising such an enjoyable afternoon.”
