A Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club girls side had the honour of hosting the first softball event at the club's new ground.
On Sunday, April 30, the U11 girls softball festival took place at The Holt, the inaugural competitive use of the BSCC's new junior pitch. Teams from Sidmouth and Clyst St George joined the Budleigh girls side and, despite the damp conditions, some "great cricket was played in a fun and friendly spirit", according to age group spokesman Duncan Gracie.
He said: "This was the first outing for Budleigh's new u11 girls team, drawing in juniors from year 4 to year 6. All the girls did brilliantly and we look forward to our next event."
Budleigh Salterton CC is looking for a correspondent to create online content for the club, a fabulous opportunity for a budding journalist. Check out their Facebook page and website for details.
