A Budleigh squad of 12 players travelled to Exonia Bowls Club to play their annual Mixed Triples game, writes Tony Mackness.
The four games were played over 18 ends and, at the halfway stage, Exonia held a narrow overall lead of 36-34. The main contributors were the Exonia team of Nigel Cox, Roy Prior and Derek Enticott, who were leading by 16-5, whilst the Budleigh team of Melissa Camp, Andy Skudder and Brian Ward were leading 18-3.
After the break for tea, the leading teams from Exonia and Budleigh teams continued with their winning ways, whilst the other three teams from Budleigh all suffered defeats, albeit by small margins. The overall result was a victory for Exonia, 73-69.
Budleigh captain Tony Mackness said: "We always enjoy our visits to Exonia and I would like to thank their Captain and his team for organising a most enjoyable game. We are looking forward to their visit to Budleigh later in the season."
