After a recent very busy period of racing and some challenging races coming up in the next fortnight it was time for most of Exmouth Harriers to do some low-key running activities over the weekend.
The exception was Lisa Boyd who ran in the Sydling Hill 11km Race through the scenic Sydling and Cerne valleys in Dorset on a very hot Saturday morning. It was not for the faint hearted as it had some steep climbs and sharp descents but it did have the most amazing views including the Cerne Abbas Giant to make it worthwhile.
Lisa ran a fantastic time of 1.23.54 finishing in 76th position overall and she was 5th in the W50-54 category.
To keep the momentum going on Saturday 32 Harriers ran in seven different parkruns around the country with five volunteering at the Exmouth parkrun 5km on the seafront and four volunteering at the Phear Park 2km junior parkrun on Sunday.
The forthcoming races for the Harriers include the Devon County 10,000m Championships at Exeter Arena and on Friday, Greenbow’s Land & Sand 5km on Exmouth beach.
This weekend brings the Jurassic Coast 100 with various distances on the Coast Path from 30km up to 120 Miles between Poole and Exmouth.
