On Thursday, 12 players from Seaton braved the gusty and wet conditions and travelled to Budleigh Salterton Bowls Club to play their Mixed Triples match, writes Tony Mackness.
Luckily, the weather improved and by the start time of 2pm, it was still very windy but dry. Testing conditions for bowls but not being wet was very welcome.
The home players seemed to enjoy the windy weather and at the halfway stage, all four of the Budleigh teams were leading, with an overall tally of 38 Shots to the 24 achieved by Seaton.
Following a break for tea, Budleigh continued with the winning ways and went on to win the match by 65 - 52, with just one team from Seaton enjoying a victory.
Tony Mackness commented: "It was touch and go whether the match would be played and I thank the Seaton team for making the long drive to Budleigh."
