The supporters who have helped Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club’s new home become a reality were formally thanked at the club’s Sponsors' Day on Saturday, August 5.
Around 90 guests enjoyed a lunch and drinks reception as BSCC secretary Bill Roper explained how their financial support was helping deliver grassroots cricket for all at the club’s stunning new home, The Holt.
He explained the fundraising challenge presented to the club by the increase in costs of building materials since the inception of the project a few years ago.
Sponsors heard how the club has received disability champion status from the England and Wales Cricket Board as part of its drive to ensure that cricket is available for all at The Holt.
Lord and Lady Clinton were among the guests lending their support to the club and praising progress so far on the new pavilion - due for completion this autumn - while enjoying a delicious buffet by Budleigh-based social enterprise Launchpad.
