A total of 33 Exmouth Harriers ran in various Parkruns on Saturday morning, including 10 who travelled a few miles west along the coast to Teignmouth. Oli White continued his preparation for the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, winning the run in 17.01.
But the biggest cheer of the weekend must go to Ben Shaw who competed in the Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Weymouth that had its swimming leg cancelled due to unsafe weather conditions
The 1.2-mile (1.9km) swim leg of the Ironman triathlon in Weymouth bay was scrapped but the 56-mile (90km) cycle and 13.1-mile (21.1km) run of the event went ahead.
Ben said afterwards “It was horrible conditions, but the spectators and volunteers were amazing. Thank you!”
Congratulations to Ben who battled through the incredibly tough conditions, finishing the 56-mile cycle in 3.11.56 and the 13.1 mile run in 2.03.31.
