East Budleigh Reserves made it back-to-back 3-2 wins last Saturday with victory at Sidmouth 3rds, writes Mark Auton.
The Jays took the lead when Dan Atkinson headed his side in front before the hosts got on top to strike twice. Budleigh regrouped after the break and were level when Atkinson half volleyed an equaliser into the roof of the net.
Budleigh goalkeeper Reggie Kew was assured with his handling, whilst the host stopper made a fine fingertip save to deny Joe Bowden. Budleigh shuffled the pack with three changes giving them renewed impetus and with a few minutes remaining, Jack Howarth superbly finished off a great move to grab the win.
Ben Hobbs took the player of the match award from his engine room role, whilst Ioan Harding caught the eye on his first appearance from the bench for a Budleigh side, who visit Dunkeswell in the Bill Slee Cup this Saturday.
