On Saturday, October 7, six Men at Budleigh Bowls Club played the annual Indoor competition against six of the Club’s lady members. The men were looking for revenge after their loss in 2022 and put out two strong Triples teams.
The competition was played over 16 ends, without a half-time break for refreshments, and on both rinks, the Men soon established leading positions. As the afternoon progressed, the Men continued with their winning ways and the final result was a victory for the Men.
Tony Mackness (Club Captain) commented: “This competition is an ideal way to kick-off our Indoor season and is a friendly yet competitive game that brings together members of all abilities. Several of the players in both teams only took up Bowls recently and this was the ideal opportunity to play their first team event."
