With both of their men’s fixtures called off, only one of Budleigh Salterton teams survived the awful weather, writes SpursTom.
Budleigh Women took on Hunters District in The Graddon Vending Women’s senior Cup, and the Robinettes were ruthless on the day.
Happy to be able to get a fixture completed, even though it was not the best of playing conditions, as it was very cold, with strong winds swirling around. The visitors proved much too good against a team struggling at the bottom of their respected league table.
The successful scorers were Kirsty Brown with a hat-trick, a couple each by Kelsey Salter, Maisie Smith and Tahla Williams and Jodie Millett and Shannon Gilmour helped themselves to a goal each. Budleigh may have conceded three goals, but there still were some notable contributions in defence, from Katie Worsley, whilst newcomer, youngster Hattie Real is beginning to find her feet at this higher level.
