Police Social Club ‘A’ hold a single point lead at the top of the Exmouth Snooker League table, despite losing to the Police ‘D’ in a five frames thriller, writes David Binmore.
George Webster 84-64 and Rob Pow 82-17 drew level with Iain Callander 71-56, but saw the decider lost to Dave Lance 73-38.
They made amends later when Steve Spinner 50-37, Rob Pow 90-47 with the highest break to date, 37, Carl Rowsell 68-52, George Webster 81-41 and Pete Abrahams 58-34 recorded maximum points from the Police ‘B’.
East Budleigh ‘A’ are second after Bert Savage 77-67, Barry Bentley 48-27, Mervyn Long 68-47 and Mark Auton 69-56 triumphed over the visiting Police ’B’. Bob Horton prevented a whitewash defeat 57-24.
Bert Savage 59-47, Harry Savage 63-53 and Mervyn Long 80-68 keep East Budleigh ‘A’ three points ahead of joint third place Police ‘C’ . John Parrott 78-54 and Bob Alexander 75-46 kept defeat to a single point.
