On a typical winter morning in Axminster, Lympstone U13s travelled away to Millwey Rise youth for a cup game.
Millwey forced a few early saves from Theo Campbell but Lympstone grew quickly into the game, as James Messenger used his pace to score his first for the day. Jaden Pannell’s set-pieces were causing a lot of problems for the home team and from a corner, Ruin Piper scored a bullet header from the penalty spot.
Messenger then latched on to a long throw from Pannell and used his pace to get in behind to score his second. Messenger’s pace was too much for the home team and he quickly completed his hat-trick, then another in a superb display.
Millwey fought a hard game and did manage to score from the penalty spot. Charlie Shuttleworth and Piper had the centre of midfield under control. James’ striker partner Lewis Evans drove the team forward, alongside excellent wing play from Jack and Jaden.
Also, the defensive unit of Leo Hills, Charlie Hallet, Pheo Wesscott, Ted Neil, Jack Stone and Jacob Kingston were all excellent throughout.
Lympstone manager Alan Ashley and assistant manager-Keith Williams would like to thank Brad Winteridge for this season’s kit sponsorship.
