At the halfway point in the Exmouth Snooker League, Police Social Club ‘A’ bag a five points lead at the top of the table, writes David Binmore.
After losing 3 frames to 2 on the East Budleigh ‘A’ table, they triumphed in the return fixture with Keiron Prosser 78-34, Rob Pow 60-28, Carl Rowsell 63-42 and Mike Delahaye 45-44 denied maximum points by Mervyn Long 73-42.
Police ‘C’ are second on their own despite losing out to the Police ‘C’. Eric James 77-67 and Paul Keates 79-67 were pegged back by Iain Callander 71(27)-37 and Craig Wilson 51-27, but, the decider was clinched by Kevin Proctor 88-86.
This result leaves the Police ‘D’ and East Budleigh ‘A’ level on 21 points joint third in the ratings.
On the individual leaderboard, East Budleigh’s Mervyn Long remains unbeaten with eight wins from all eight matches played.
