Police Social Club ‘A’ hold a slender single point lead at the top of the Exmouth Snooker League table, albeit with a game in hand. Carl Rowsell 106-73, George Webster 65-57, Mike Delahaye 56-18 and Pete Abrahams 81-49 were denied a nap hand by Iain Callander 78-29 of third place Police ‘D’.
Police ‘D’ keep that third spot after Craig Wilson 57-49, Kevin Proctor 44-37, Dave Lance 73-46 and Dan Brown 62-36 benefited from two black-ball wins on the East Budleigh ‘A’ table, where Alan Farrant won the opening frame 63-58.
Previously, East Budleigh ‘A lost at the Police ‘B’. Steve Vittles 69-45 and Mark Auton 82-59 kept defeat to a minimum as Aaron Evens 84-60, Bob Horton 67-66 and Dave Thomas 67-21 recorded the Police ‘B’s second victory of the season.
They could have added to this rare win as Terry Merrick 62-28 and David Binmore 54-11 led the Police ‘C’ after three frames. But, after eight attempts to pot the re-spotted black by both players in frame two, Terry Brown 60-53, Paul Keates 55-22 and Bob Alexander 70-27 have the Police ‘C’ second in the table, one point off the top spot.
