The black-ball finish dominated the Exmouth Snooker League, including the Police Social Club ‘D match with the Police ‘B’, John Sharland 50-43, Terry Merrick 78-67, David Binmore 73-60 and Iain Callander 80-77 shared four frames before Dave Lance 82-66 secured a 3-2 win for the ‘D’ team.
Next up, Iain Callander 88-68, Dan Brown 66-30, Kevin Proctor 75-27 and Craig Wilson 58-57 were denied maximum points by Bob Alexander of the Police ‘C’.
Despite this loss, the Police ‘C’ are second in the table with Eric James 71-58, Paul Keates 66-35 and Bob Alexander 47-16 overturning the the opening wins for Carl Rowsell 95(30-83 and Rob Pow 66-55 of current leaders Police ‘A’.
The ‘A’ team top the table by one point and with a game in hand after George Webster 95-61 and Steve Spinner 61-33 drew level after four frames with East Budleigh ‘A’. But, the visitors returned 3-2 victors, thanks to Alan Farrant 79(31)-45, Bert Savage 52-48 and Mark Auton 64-43.
