It was a bad day at the office for East Budleigh last Saturday as both sides will have been disappointed with their respective results, writes Mark Auton.
The first-team made the short journey to Lympstone and were on the wrong side of a 3-2 score line. Jack Howarth and Rian Hill struck for the Jays, but the hosts won the game with goals from Billy Phillips, Billy Worthington and Matthew Williams.
Manager Matt Jones was not happy with the way in which Budleigh conceded some sloppy goals for the second week in a row and will need to improve when they host Bow on Saturday.
East Budleigh Reserves were well below par in their match with Hemyock and finished up on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat. Dan Atkinson grabbed a late consolation heading in a corner kick from Tom Christian for a Budleigh side who are at Lyme Regis this Saturday.
