East Budleigh completed a league double over opponents Bow last Saturday with a comfortable 4-0 victory at Vicarage Road, writes Mark Auton.
In awful wet and windy conditions, it was the Jays that went close early on with Jack Greenslade seeing his shot tipped on to the bar. With 20 minutes on the watch, an injury to Callum Liddle saw Budleigh have to shuffle their back line, but James Bridge, Ryan Britton, Guy Laverock and Sam Balbi all did well.
Budleigh eventually took the lead on the half hour, Toby and Brad Hill both involved before Jack Howarth scored at the second attempt. The visitors came out for the second half knowing they were still in the contest and gave Budleigh a warning as the post came to their rescue.
Just after the hour, the hosts were two ahead with Brad Hill sweeping the ball into the net, before the third arrived courtesy of Dan Atkinson. Goalkeeper Jack England cleared, and Player of the Match Rian Hill held the ball up for Atkinson to dribble forward and fire in a fine finish.
With the last kick of the game, Hill set up Greenslade who drilled the ball into the roof of the net.
