Budleigh Bowls Club welcomed six players from Sidmouth to play their annual Mixed Triples match, writes Tony Mackness.
The games are played over 18 Ends and on Rink 1, the team of Anne Peacock, Stuart Jackson and Tony Mackness got off to a flying start and after just seven Ends were holding a comfortable lead of 9-3. Sidmouth then found their form and fought back to secure a draw of 17-17.
Meanwhile on Rink 2, the Budleigh trio of Ann Vincent, Andy Skudder and Marilyn Foreman were playing a steady game and at the halfway point were leading 9-5. The Sidmouth trio of Sue Clint, Wilf Radburn and Sue Turner benefited from the tea-break and came back to win 15-12, resulting in an overall win for Sidmouth of 32:29.
Sidmouth captain Sue Clint said: "We always enjoy our visits to Budleigh, where all our matches are played in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.”
