Budleigh Salterton FC Men's 2nd were knocked out of the Billy Slee Cup by Farway United in a penalty shootout.
The game between the Division Three and Division Two sides took place on Saturday, March 30.
It came after the teams drew 2-2 after the normal 90 minutes of play.
Both sides could have won, but the Robins were saved several times by keeper Matt Brown.
In the last quarter period of the match, it was the visitors turn to withstand pressure, and the woodwork came to their rescue very late on.
But despite all the chances and pressure, neither side could find a winner so had to settle for a penalty shootout.
Farway United’s first spot kick was saved by Budleigh 'keeper Matthew Brown.
The Robins wasted the chance to gain an advantage by missing two in succession, so they were always playing catch-up.
It ended with Budleigh going down 2-4 and therefore getting eliminated from the Billy Slee Cup.
The two teams meet again in the quarter final of the Grandisson Cup, at a date yet to be determined,
It comes after the weather caused postponement of the original date.
Budleigh Salterton Women's next match is the County FA Graddon Vending Women’s Senior Cup final against Fremington on April 5.
