Exmouth Town have confirmed their intention to re-sign for their forthcoming Southern League Division One South season all of the players that contributed to “The Great Escape” last season when, against the odds at Christmas, Town retained their Southern League status, writes John Dibsdall.
Ace High will be looking to reach 400 appearances for the club, currently on 380, whilst Aarron Denny, 264 appearances and Dave Rowe, 261 will be looking to reach the 300 mark.
They have also confirmed two more new signings. Ben Griffith, a forward who has played for Frome Town and Bridgwater United, and Dave Thorne another Bridgwater player who has previously played for Weston-Super-Mare and Shepton Mallet.
The club have also added two more to their pre-season friendlies. An Exeter City X1 will visit their Circle of Care Community Stadium on Thursday, July 18, kick off 7pm, whilst Town will travel to Cullompton Rangers on Tuesday, July 23, kick off 7.30pm. They kick off the friendlies on Saturday, July 6 at Bristol-based Hallen, ko 3pm.
Town’s first competitive fixture is likely to be in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday, August 3, with their league fixtures commencing on Saturday August 10. Their first FA Trophy tie is scheduled for August 24, with the preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday August 17.
Town can also expect midweek league fixtures. It is anticipated that all league fixtures and cup ties will be known early in July.
