Budleigh successfully moved through to the Top Club competition semi-finals, following two impressive wins.
Partaking in the Top Club tournament, a demanding contest of five simultaneous games involving 11 players from each side, Budleigh demonstrated great skill and teamwork over the past fortnight.
Their first 3-2 triumph occurred at Phear Park, with outstanding performances by Andy Cardy in the 4 Wood, Paul Griffin in the 2 Wood and a triple success for Tede Shanahan, Peter Foreman and Brian Ward.
An unexpected occurrence happened during the game, as club members scrambled when a rogue water sprinkler burst into action.
There was initial panic as the players ran for cover, but all was well when Club members found the fuse box and deactivated the system.
The team had a good laugh about it afterwards.
Budleigh repeated their 3-2 success in a home match against Feniton.
Another win for Paul Griffin in the 2 Wood, while Norman Upchurch and David Roberts clinched the Pairs.
The Triples match saw Ted Shanahan, Brian Ward and Skip Peter Cooper excel, ensuring Budleigh's progress.
The club is now setting its focus on the semi-finals, which will be held at their home ground against Sidmouth on July 4.
