Exmouth Town have an attractive home fixture on Thursday night when they welcome an Exeter City X1 to their Circle of Care Stadium, kick-off 7pm, writes John Dibsdall.

Their intended pre-season friendly this Saturday at Street has been cancelled following the sides being drawn together in the FA Cup, where Town will have home advantage on August 3 but they will travel to Cullompton Rangers on Tuesday, July 23, kick-off 7.30pm.

The anticipated release of their Southern League fixtures last Friday did not materialise and it is now hoped they will be released this Friday, July 19.

Pre-season has continued with two more friendlies. Last Tuesday, Exmouth entertained Southern League Premier side Plymouth Parkway.

Under new management this season, Parkway fielded a side of established players, new signings and trialists, with Town also giving their home fans a look at some of their new signings. The result was an entertaining match played in good spirit but also with intensity that provided an excellent workout.

Well-taken goals from Ben Steer and a brace from Aarron Denny nearly cancelled out the two goals apiece scored by Matt Wright and Dylan Jones for the visitors.

On Saturday, South West Peninsula side Torrington were the visitors and were on the receiving end, as Town cruised to a 7-0 victory, emphasising the difference between the leagues with Town at step 4 in the national pyramid and the visitors at step 6.

New signing Jack Thorne helped himself to a well-taken hat trick with a brace from Tom Bath and further goals from Merson Ham and Nathan Bochenski.

Over the two games, Town fans were also given the opportunity to cast their eye over other new signings Ollie Knowles, Ben Griffith, Morgan Williams Isaac McCue and goalkeeper Frankie Phillips.
