John Davis writes about Devon Football League Budleigh Salterton 2 Dartmouth 4 for the Journal.
Budleigh were four goals down at one stage and despite a second half recovery never looked likely to take anything from the game.
Dartmouth took an eighth minute lead when Stuart Bowker broke through to score and on forty-one minutes he added a second.
Josh Briscomb put the visitors 3-0 in front in first half stoppage time and things got worse for Budleigh early in the second period when Morgan Pearce was sent off after picking up a second yellow card.
Bowker completed his hat-trick just past the hour mark before the home side began to get more into the game.
A well-placed header and a penalty kick from Jack Hocking gave Budleigh some hope but, even though Dartmouth were reduced to ten men themselves before the end, the home side were unable to further narrow the gap between the two sides.
