East Devon Golf Club has been crowned the best in the county after winning the Parker Trophy.
The team played against Borringdon Park Golf Club, Tavistock Golf Club, and The Warren Golf Club to reach the finals at Saunton Golf Club on September 1.
In the semi-final, East Devon faced Torquay Golf Club and won 2½ to ½.
The first pair, Oli Smith and James Pickard were victorious on the 15th hole, winning 4&3.
The third pair, Duncan Taylor and Lewis White finished their game on the 13th hole, winning 6&5.
This left Tom Woodhouse and Robin Murray to shake hands for half a point.
The win set up a final against Stover Golf Club.
The match was similar to the semi-final, with Oli and James giving the team a great start with another 4&3 win on the 15th hole.
Duncan and Lewis sealed the Parker Trophy win with the same score on the 15th hole.
Tom and Robin shook hands for a half point, this time on the 18th tee.
The Parker Trophy competition is considered the Premier Men's Inter Club's match-play knockout competition in Devon, being a scratch foursomes competition with matches played on neutral courses.
Parker Trophy captain Jason Wride said: "The Parker Trophy squad was made up of more than the six players who played in the semi-final and final, and I would like to thank Andy Procter, David Blick and Louis Hayman who also successfully represented the team throughout the campaign.
"The strength and success of the team came from a united cause, the collective ability to rise to the challenge, the camaraderie of team competitive golf and, importantly, knowing that the East Devon Golf Club members are supportive of us.
"To the team, you should be immensely proud of what you have achieved as I know the whole of East Devon Golf Club are in you"
"We have now put ourselves up there to be the team to topple in 2025, a different kind of challenge awaits but one I know we can achieve.
"It has been an absolute honour and my pleasure to captain this year’s successful East Devon Golf Club Parker Trophy squad, my sincere thanks to all who have made it a successful campaign."
The Parker Trophy is a significant achievement for the East Devon Golf Club, and the team is now looking forward to defending their title in 2025.
