Plymouth Argyle are the visitors to the Complete Infrastructure Stadium this Wednesday evening kick-off 7.45pm as Exmouth Town look to extend their unbeaten run in a St Lukes Bowl cup tie.

Town made it six unbeaten with a hard fought 2-2 draw with Malvern Town in a closely contested game where they were pegged back twice but could have earned victory in the closing stages.

The opening twenty five minutes saw both sides looking to attack without really troubling either ‘keeper. The deadlock was broken when an excellent cross from Joe Belsten was met with a towering header at the far post by Tom Bath. Losing the ball in midfield and sloppy defending led to Malvern being gifted a soft penalty and despite Frankie Phillips getting a hand to the ball the visitors had equalised with forty four minutes played.

With three minutes of added time played in the first half Town produced a real goal of quality. A pin point pass from Ollie Knowles allowed Nelson Iscguan to race clear of his marker and bury his shot in the far corner.

Malvern started the second half on the front foot and deservedly equalised with fifty one minutes played. Ibrahim Olateju, on loan from Cheltenham Town, held off two defenders before forcing the ball home. The game was then nip and tuck as both sides went looking for the winner. The introduction of Aarron Denny with fifteen minutes remaining for his first involvement having missed the last four matches sparked Town who looked the more likely to score. Tom Bath was put clean through but the ‘keeper stood up well to block the shot and Bath was then again denied by another excellent save.

Honours even at the final whistle with the points shared being the correct result as Malvern continued their own run of form that has seen them lose just one of their last nine games.

This Saturday Town travel to Westbury United and then next Wednesday (November 20th)they are home to Willand Rovers.
