East Budleigh returned to winning ways last Saturday, beating a hardworking Lympstone side 4-1 in a local derby.
It wasn't a polished display from the Jays, but they will be happy to have sealed the points after the visitors took a 13th-minute lead with their first attack.
The final ball was often lacking for Budleigh, but they got it right on the half hour.
Adam Wilkinson fed Toby Hill, and it was Rian Hill that stabbed the ball home from his cross.
Wilkinson then had a good chance to put his side ahead but could not provide the required finish as the teams went in level at the break.
Budleigh began the second half with renewed vigour.
Brad Hill rattled the bar before Jack Greenslade saw his cross-cum-shot deflected into his own net by a Lympstone defender.
A third goal for the hosts came just after the hour when Greenslade, with the aid of another deflection, converted a pass from Brad Hill with a lovely right-foot volley.
Jack Howarth went close to scoring before player of the match Guy Laverock put the icing on the cake five minutes from the end, when Mark Lever, Brad, and Rian Hill were all involved in creating the chance.
This Saturday, Budleigh visit Westexe for their league encounter.
